The SEACSN Conflict Management Regional Training Workshop

OVERVIEW
This training workshop is designed to develop practical ability in conflict prevention and resolution in a public context. Drawing on the experience of the participants and trainers the program will explore strategies for designing conflict prevention and resolution processes and key skills that are required to make those processes effective. Each part of this training module contains conceptual information to be presented to the training participants as well as activities and/or role-play. The training workshop content proceeds from the general to the specific and is organized to be as helpful as possible to users. It is grouped thematically and ordered 26 - 30 September 2005 Pattaya, Thailand in a progressive sequence that builds on the knowledge of each successive lesson.

OBJECTIVES
  1. To increase the conflict management capacity of participants at the basic level.
  2. To cooperation and collaboration among multi sector society working in the field of peace and conflict studies in Southeast Asia.
  3. To promote the practice of peaceful conflict management.

The complete training modules consist of five days training combining both theory and practice (Subject to change according to the availability of trainers).

TARGET GROUP
Government agencies, non-government organisation, private companies, research and educational institutions, as well as regional based international funded project offices are among the possible target group for this training program.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
  • This workshop is design for 30 participants on first come first serve basis. Both Southeast Asian and international participants are welcome.
  • This training workshop will be conducted in English.
  • Submit the attached application form as soon as possible, but not later than 31 AUGUST 2005
  • Each participants are responsible for his or her own financial expenses.
  • The workshop organiser reserved the final decision making authority in processing the participant's application.
TRAINING PACKAGE FEE
USD$800/participant
  • Each registered participant is entitled to five days conflict management training.
  • All participants will receive a specially designed workshop kit, workshop material, and stationery.
  • 7-day 6-night accommodation (inclusive of daily ABF) and conference package (daily lunch, 2 tea breaks per day) are included in this package.
  • The workshop will be held in one of the beach view hotel in Pattaya, Thailand.
  • Transfer from Bangkok airport to Pattaya.
This package DOES NOT include:
  • Travel expenses (international and domestic travel cost, visa,
  • airport taxes, insurance and etc.).
  • Individual per diems.
  • Logistic expenses (shopping, private dinner, extension of stay, mini bar, laundry, phone call and fax, room services and etc.).
Payment
The workshop organiser will issue you an official invitation letter and an invoice upon we received your application form. The Training Package Fee is USD$800 per person (excluding money transfer fee). All payments should be made by cheque or bank transfer to the following account by 31 August 2005. We do not accept credit card. Please make your payment in US Dollar.

Confirmation of Payment
A copy of the banking operation shall be sent to the workshop secretariat via fax or email. This is to prevent unnecessary focusing problems. We will deliver a receipt as soon as we register payment. No registration will be confirmed until payment is received and confirmed.

Cancellation policy
Cancellation received on or before 12 September 2005, will be refunded, minus an administration charge of USD$100 per person.
