The Mindanao conflict has always been a complex issue to discuss. Volumes have been written about the history of the conflict, from various angles, and with varying opinions about the nature of the conflict, how it begun, and how it can be resolved. The book is focusing on the struggle of the Bangsamoro people for self determination in Mindanao. Further, it will be looking at other aspects such as peace negotiations and the involvement of third parties in the negotiations, as well as other “locally-introduced” attempts at finding the solutions to the general conflict situation. Reflections from another interested group, the Lumads, and how they see the conflict are also included to give the readers a more well-rounded perspective of the situation. This book offers a lot of informative issues, special case studies, surveys, and research, which describes the core challenges of the conflict.
